Great idea, but I was disappointed that all the putty is the same. I expected different themed/colored putty and different types of items to mix in. It just all seems the same to me, so I probably would not buy this again

Good idea, bad execution

Where to begin with this advent calendar? It seems like it was made by someone who had an advent calendar described to them, but had never actually enjoyed one. The doors are just in order, so you don't need to search around for one each day - it's just the next door. They are arranged in an 8x3 grid and each column just has the same thing: a column of putty, a column of mix-ins, a column of "charms", and so on. Even children pick up on the pattern almost immediately so there's no sense of surprise. Well, not none - it's always a surprise when you open a door to find it empty, because everything in that door fell through the back and so the bottom door just has all of the contents for the entire column. Fun problem solving! To give credit where it is due, the actual putty, mix-ins and charms that are included are all well made (even though it's not clear to me what the charms have to do with putty, they are a hit with our daughter so I give them a pass). But the putty containers are often on their side so they become almost impossible to open (since the putty settles in such a way that it seeps into the lid causing it to jam - so that becomes a fun activity for parents too! Honestly, with some actual thought and care this could be an awesome calendar, but in its current incarnation I find it just *barely* acceptable. Please hire some kind of advent consultant for next year.

Great calendar, poor packaging

This advent calendar is great. The putty, mix-ins and charms are cute and my daughter is enjoying it. However, the packaging could be better. There have been numerous days where the there are empty boxes because the charms have moved locations, most likely during the shipping process I assume. It is disappointing the have an empty box. I can already see next week there are 3 items in one box, 2 charms and a putty. So, that is frustrating.
